Since 2005, Patricia McCarthy is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Arkema Inc. Prior to this position, McCarthy was vice president, Finance & Operations of Pearson Education France, a subsidiary of Pearson PLC, a British company. Pearson is an international media entity and Pearson Education is the world’s largest education publishing company.

Prior to her employment at Pearson, Patricia was co-founder and general director of Finance for Simon & Schuster Macmillan, a publishing subsidiary of Viacom, which was acquired by Pearson in 1998.

Patricia has more than 30 years of finance and accounting experience and started her career in public accounting.

She holds an MBA from ESSEC (École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales) in France and a French Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance
