Sylvie Gallier Howard, Acting Commerce Director, City of Philadelphia

Sylvie became chief of staff for Commerce in 2016 before assuming the role of first deputy director in 2018, followed by acting commerce director in March 2020. She previously served as deputy chief of staff to the deputy mayor for economic development during the Nutter administration. In addition to supporting day-to-day operations, Sylvie’s responsibilities include coordinating communications and marketing, legislative activities, international relations, and the roll-out of new programs.

 

For six years, she was the principal and founder of Clementine Consulting, providing guidance to nonprofits and social enterprises. Sylvie has also served as the executive director of two community-based nonprofits in Philadelphia: The Northwest Fund and The Empowerment Group, where she started Philadelphia’s first bilingual Spanish-English entrepreneurship training program.

Jan Call, Legal Director, Firmenich North America


Jan is responsible for all North American legal matters for the Firmenich, the world's largest privately-owned fragrance and flavors company, and also manages the North American legal team. She is responsible for the handling of all litigation and disputes, including product liability, complex commercial disputes and employment matters, as well as the management of outside counsel. Jan handles the primary legal support for contract negotiations (commercial, collaboration, R&D) for all divisions. She provides legal support for regulatory and QHSE functions. Additionally, she serves as Corporate Secretary for all North American affiliates and provides general corporate support, including M&A activities. Jan is a member of the North American Business Ethics Committee and the Crisis Management Team.

Joe Fawell, Vice President, Government Affairs, Air Liquide

Joe has served as Vice President of Government Affairs for Air Liquide since November 2018.  Prior to that, he served for almost six years in the U.S. House of Representatives, most recently as a Legislative Director.
